Farmer’s Fridge Organic Salad Vending Machine

farmersfridge

Farmer’s Fridge is a vending machine that delivers healthy, gourmet meals made with fresh ingredients each morning.

Vending machine food is no where near the quality of gourmet, but it provides a quick fix when fresh food isn’t available. Now, Farmer’s Fridge creates healthy gourmet meals from fresh top quality ingredients every morning and delivers it through refrigerated vending machines. Farmers_FridgeThe Chicago based start-up gets fresh produce from local farms and begins making salads, healthy snacks, breakfast and protein pots at 5 am. The meals are loaded into refrigerated, touchscreen kiosks by 10 am. Salad selections include Smoked Cheddar Cobb, Half Crunchy Thai, Kale White Bean Caesar, Greek, Southwest and the North Napa Salad. The bowls include, Cauliflower Fried Rice, Pesto Pasta, Southwest Quinoa, Almond Butter Oats, Butternut Barley, Soba Noodle, Greek Yogurt & Granola and the Loaded Potato Power Bowl. There are also 4 protein jars, 6 snack jars and a choice of 6 drinks. Any leftovers are donated to food banks in a timely manner.

The gourmet salads start at about $8 dollars and the meals are packed in recyclable plastic jars, that can be returned to the kiosk after use. The first Farmer’s Fridge kiosk is currently located at the Loop in Chicago, IL. The Farmers Fridge team expects to expand their business in the near future.
