  1. I was first introduced to history of Josephine Baker with a movie on cable television long ago when she was played by Lynn Whitfield. I found it so ironic that she had to go overseas to get the love she, as a beautiful black woman couldn’t get here in the U.S. Truly sad.

  2. C. Rae White says:

Josephine Baker was an amazing woman! I think Lynn Whitfield did a fantastic portraying her, what a wonderful film. I first saw Josephine on an extra large, full color show program in the late 1960’s (or early 70’s). She had come to Detroit to perform and my parents saw her. I was fascinated by her total presentation, her makeup, costume and head piece. I wanted to know every thing about her, I was elated to see her movies many years later.
