    Wow! Good point, but I always thought we got served more food back then.   Maybe I am getting confused with the size portion and calories count that is being compared.

    We’ve been getting way more food per serving in the recent past.  We didn’t start getting the oversized cookies, muffins, bagels, donuts, etc.. until the mid to late eighties. After that everything became supersized and all-you-can-eat.  Just think, all that extra food we’ve been stuffing down our throats could have been shared with those who need more food. Now, Americans are known as the fattest people on earth.
