The Front Door | A Dream

 The Front Door

I had a dream on November 27, 2006.  I was at home in the bathroom showering and when I came out the front door to the house was off the hinges and lying on the front lawn.  The full length window next to the door was shattered at the bottom.  I panicked and began to try and put the door back in its place, all the time wondering how and why this happened and why I didn’t hear anything.  Once I got the door pretty well situated my roommate walks in with a group of people (friends, didn’t know them) and asks what I’m doing.  So, I tell him my story and he casually states that he did it and not to worry about it.  We ended up staying with his friends and I wasn’t to happy about it.  The dream ended.

Seeing your home in your dream means security, basic needs, and values. You may feel at home at your new job or you finally feel settled and comfortable in a new environment. In particular, to see your childhood home or a home that you no longer live in, suggests your own desires for building a family. It also reflects aspects of yourself that were prominent or developed during the time you lived in that home. You may experience some feelings or unfinished expression of emotions that are now being triggered by a waking situation. Dreaming that you cannot find your way home indicates that you have lost faith and belief in yourself. It may also signify a major transition in your life.  Dreaming that you are in the bathroom relates to your instinctual urges. You may be experiencing some burdens/feelings and need to “relieve yourself”. Alternatively, it may symbolize purification and self-renewal. You need to cleanse yourself, both emotionally and psychologically.  Dreaming that you are taking a shower in clear, fresh water indicates spiritual or physical renewal or the need to wash a burden out of your life. It is also symbolic of forgiveness.  Alternatively, your dream may indicate that you are unwilling to let your guard down. You are still keeping up a protective barrier between you and others. Dreaming that you are entering through a door means new opportunities that will be presented before you. You are entering into a new stage in your life and moving from one level of consciousness to another. In particular, a door that opens to the outside means your need to be more accessible to others, whereas a door that opens into the inside indicates your desire for inner exploration and self-discovery. Seeing opened doors in your dream, symbolizes your receptiveness and willingness to accept new ideas/concepts. In particular, to see a light behind it suggests that you are moving toward greater enlightenment/spirituality.  Seeing broken glass in your dream means a change in your life. You will find that a situation will come to an abrupt and untimely end. Dreaming that you are Seeing or eating glass, highlights your vulnerability, confusion and frailty. You may have difficulties in communicating your thoughts across and getting the right words out. Alternatively, it may symbolize your hurtful and cutting comments. Perhaps you have been hurt or disappointed by something that someone had said. Or you need to be careful in how you phrase and word things or run the risk of offending others.  Dreaming that you are in a panic indicates a lack of control and power in your life. You may be feeling helpless in some situation or unable to make a clear decision.  Dreaming that you are repairing something means that you are going through a period of recovery from an upsetting situation. The item that you are repairing is indicative of the area in your life that you are working on.  Seeing your friends in your dream means aspects of your personality that you have rejected, but are ready to integrate these rejected parts of yourself. The relationships you have with those around you are important in learning about yourself. Additionally, this symbol foretells of happy tidings from them and the arrival of good news.
