The milliner who designed the now-famous bow-tied, Swarovski-crystal inaugural hat that Aretha Franklin wore for her inauguration performance has run out of fabric…

Styln Says:  This hat was created by Luke Song a Detroit milliner.  Mr. Song Millinery has been located in Detroit’s New Center Area shopping district for 25 years.  Since “The Queen of Soul” wore the hat on worldwide TV, Mr. Song has received orders for the church hat from all over the world. Luke Song is doin’ it big in da D.

Yeah, my mom was remarking how great that hat was. Eh, I could take it or leave it either way since I am not a fashion oriented person. This is just one more asian designer to get some fashion recognition from the inaugural festivies, the other being the young designer of Michelle Obama’s dress for the ball.

  2. Styln says:

It’s not my style either. I’m just glad that Aretha hasn’t totally given up on Detroit and Detroit products like many of the other Detroit born celebs who have forsaken Detroit for La La Land.

  3. c says:

I heard the smithsonian wants that hat but the queen ain’t giving it up…yet. As for celebrities not giving back, hey, that seems to be an epidemic for most celebrities who come from humble backgrounds. They forget where they came from until their career hits a landslide.

  4. Iris says:

My mom liked that hat also. Personally, it’s not my style. That hat is bigger than the guy’s head. People were joking that you could see it from outer space.

  5. Styln says:

Could you imagine sitting behind someone wearing that hat at church, a concert, or any where else? I’d wanna move!
